15-16 November 2012
The Australian National University, Canberra
CALL FOR SUBMISSION OF PROPOSAL – DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 15 AUGUST!!!
The Korean Studies Association of Australasia (KSAA) is holding a research workshop for postgraduate students and early career scholars in Korean Studies on 15-16 November, 2012. The workshop is sponsored by the Korea Foundation as part of their ongoing effort to support scholarship in Korean studies and foster the field in Australia and New Zealand.
The workshop is designed to provide a forum for young researchers in Korean studies to present original research and receive feedback from senior scholars. The primary goal is to have research students and early career researchers present a proposal for research or a progress report on an on-going research project, and receive constructive comments and suggestions from academics in their respective field. Presentations on completed research are also welcome. From the papers of the workshop, a few will be selected for publication at the International Review of Korean Studies, subject to the outcome of the review process. (IROKS is ranked at the category “B” in the 2009 ERA ranking of the ARC.)
All research scholars in Korean Studies (Honours students, Masters by research students, PhD students) and early career researchers who have completed their PhDs in the past three years are invited to submit proposals for consideration. Recipients of Korea Foundation postgraduate scholarships are particularly encouraged to take part.
Research Students and Early Career Researchers
Students and early career researchers are kindly requested to submit the application form with an abstract of their paper by 15 August, 2012. The abstract should be no longer than 500 words. Students will also need to obtain a reference letter from their supervisor. Please note that all presenters will have their travel costs reimbursed.
