National Library of Australia Study Grants 2020

Every year, the National Library of Australia offers Asia Study Grants to assist scholars in Australia to undertake short-term intensive research in the Library’s Asian language and Asia-related collections.

Asia Study Grants are open to researchers and PhD students who are citizens of, or residing in Australia and attached to an Australian academic institution.

Fellowship benefits:

  • Up to four weeks intensive research onsite at the Library
  • Economy travel to and from Canberra
  • Honorarium of $1000 per week for accommodation and living expenses
  • Special access to Asian collections, office facilities and specialist staff expertise

We invite applications from PhD, early career or established scholars in any field with a demonstrated need to access the Asian language and related collections at the National Library of Australia. This program is generously supported by the Harold S Williams Trust and private donors. Learn more about the 2020 Asia Study Grants and apply or send your enquiry to
